Looking at the eastern section of the peak and ski runs, which was
simply another unamed mountain peak until Thanksgiving 1987, when the
owners of Ski Incline which was on the other side of the Mount Rose
Summit bought 655-acres of the mountain and developed their new ski park
and named it Diamond Peak, as it offers priceless views of Lake Tahoe, as
priceless as a diamond itself. Towering above the mountain is Ellis Peak, with leftover snowfall in May 2002. Photographs and content copyright ©2002 RM & Bonanza: Scenery of the Ponderosa, |
