Mount Rose: West Summit Vista point at west summit of Mount Rose.
Mount Rose Summit is located in the Toiyabe National Forest. This section of the Carson Range lies between North Lake Tahoe and Reno. It is directly above the shoreline of Incline Village. The summit region is the highest one that is open year-round. It's 8,900 feet above sea level. In July of 1959, stock footage at the scenic overlook was filmed for establishing shots. The production returned in June of 1961 and 1962 to film new shots of the vista. The east side was used for a few outdoor segments in three's "Gabrielle". Filming was in June of 1961. View of Lake Tahoe from the scenic overlook at Mount Rose.
Another panorama, looking straight west, at spectacular Lake Tahoe, as
seen on Bonanza.
Beautiful Crystal Bay, and Stateline Point are the prize in this
shot, with the Incline Village golf course, seen in the foreground. The
Bonanza 2002 Friendship Convention will take place at the Biltmore Hotel
from June 7th to 9th, at Crystal Bay. This famous establishing shot was
seen on Bonanza during its main run, through 1968.
